Marin County Public Administrator
Booth204
The Marin County Public Administrator’s Office serves the community by managing the estates of individuals who pass away without a will or without someone able or willing to act on their behalf. Our role is to protect assets, locate heirs, settle debts, and ensure estates are handled in accordance with California law.
At the Marin Senior Fair, our booth will focus on providing seniors, caregivers, and families with clear, practical information about end-of-life planning and estate administration. We will explain what happens when someone passes without an estate plan, when the Public Administrator becomes involved, and how our office works closely with families and caregivers to safeguard a person’s affairs.
Attendees can learn about the probate process, common challenges that arise, and steps they can take now—such as creating a will, trust, or advance directives—to ensure their wishes are honored and to reduce stress for loved ones. We will have free resources available, including basic planning checklists, and welcome questions about real-life scenarios to help make the information more relevant and practical.
We’re here to provide guidance, answer questions, and help the community better understand this important public service and how proactive planning can make a meaningful difference.
