The Senior Peer Counseling: A Bridge Connecting Changing Realities

Volunteer counselors help senior members of our community sort through the transitions and realities of again that we all face: the loss of independence and control, isolation, and declining physical health. Counselors provide emotional support and practical tools to help participants cope with change, remain independent as long as possible, and cultivate a positive approach to aging. Senior Peer Counselors, who are trained and supervised by behavioral health professionals, make weekly home visits to participants in their homes. This service is free of charge.
